IUGA 2013 38th Annual Meeting

Evaluations
Everyone who attended the meeting received an e-mail to complete the online evaluation. If you have not done so already, please complete the survey by clicking here. Please direct any questions regarding the meeting evaluation to Maureen Hodgson at Maureen@iuga.org.

If you attended any workshops during the meeting, you would have also received an evaluation for each individual workshop you attended. A reminder e-mail was sent for workshop evaluations, so please complete those evaluations as well. Please direct any questions regarding the workshop evaluations to Amanda Grabloski at Amanda@iuga.org.

Connect With Other Members on the IUGA Website
One of the main ways to achieve IUGA’s mission of advancing urogynecological knowledge and practice globally is to give members the opportunity to connect with each other so they can share common issues and concerns. IUGA is pleased to provide a variety of ways for members to connect and learn from each other. (Click on the highlighted word to be directed to the appropriate area of the IUGA website.)
  • Discussion Forums – Provide a place for members to raise questions directly with other members.
  • Member Connect – Is a resource for members to publicize their willingness to receive other urogynecologists for short periods and for members who are traveling to other parts of the world to connect with fellow-members.
  • Special Interest Groups - Link members with a common interest in a specific urogynecological topic or area.
  • Volunteer Opportunities – Provides members the chance to become directly involved with other members in projects and activities that advance the urogynecological field.

IUJ Impact Factor Increase
The IUJ 2012 impact factor was just released and IUGA is pleased to announce that it has increased from 1.832 to 2.169. The impact factor is calculated by dividing the number of times 2010 and 2011 IUJ articles are cited in 2012, by the number of articles published in the IUJ in 2010 and 2011.The IUJ is also now ranked 22nd of 77 in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and 26th of 73 in Urology & Nephrology.

World Continence Week
The International Continence Society (ICS) World Continence Week (WCW), taking place June 24-30, is an annual initiative with the primary aim to raise awareness about incontinence related issues. WCW was initiated at ICS 2008 in Cairo with the first ever World Continence Day. This became World Continence Week in June 2009 with activities being developed worldwide. WCW seeks to draw attention to and increase public awareness about incontinence conditions and to give sufferers the confidence to seek help and improve their quality of life.
