IUGA Office Move Reminder

As a reminder, the IUGA office move to Washington, D.C. has been taking place over the course of the week and will continue to take place over the weekend.  Operations in the D.C. office will officially commence on Monday, August 12. The move has been carefully planned and it is expected that there will be minimal service interruptions.  The IUGA web site and e-mail will be fully functioning throughout the move process, although it may take staff a bit longer to respond.  However, on Friday, August 9th  late afternoon the phone system will be shut down.  It will be operational by  August 12th later in the afternoon.  While orders can still be placed for patient education items through the online store,  there will be no shipments between August 6-14.

The IUGA office’s new address and phone numbers, effective August 12, are as follows:

2030 M Street, NW
Suite 701
Washington, DC 20036 USA
Ph: (202) 733-3234
Fax: (202) 733-3365

Thank you for supporting IUGA over the next couple of weeks during this transition. If you have any questions about the move, please contact Chuck Shields, Executive Director, at chuck@iuga.org.

New Volunteer Opportunity!
Apply to be an IUGA Champion

As IUGA continues to grow and extend our roots to more countries around the world, our need for volunteers grows as well. We are now seeking IUGA members to volunteer for the newly established IUGA Champions Program, which was created to promote awareness about urogynecology and IUGA. For the first year, we will accept at least two volunteers from up to 12 countries around the world to act as IUGA champions, helping with both recruitment of new members and the retention of our existing members. The program will be evaluated after the first year and additional champions may be added as needed.

As an IUGA Champion, you will have the opportunity to establish camaraderie with other champions and IUGA members throughout the world and make a significant contribution to the growth of urogynecology in your country. The application process for the champions program will be open through August 26, 2013. Once all the applications are received they will be reviewed by a group of people which will include IUGA office staff, a board member and a committee chair. The selection criteria for champions includes demonstrating access to contacts in your country, effective service in other health related organizations/associations and active participation in IUGA. To download the champions program manual and application, please click here.

Questions about the champion program should be sent to Amy Cassini, Membership Manager at amy@iuga.org.
