Things to do in Washington, D.C.
If you are planning to attend the 2014 meeting, make sure you take a few minutes to review the “Guide to Washington, D.C.” The guide includes the most popular things to do and see broken down by neighborhood. You will find information about everything from art and culture in DuPont Circle to the nightlife along the U Street Corridor. Maps of the city and subway, links to popular web sites and an overview of cultural activities will help you plan your trip to D.C. Click here to visit the web site and download the guide. We will continue to add information to this section regarding available tour programs, including kid-friendly tours.  We will share information about these in future annual meeting updates, but please continue to check this section of the annual meeting website.

Information about visas and invitation letters
If you reside outside of the U.S. and are planning to attend the AUGS/IUGA 2014 meeting, you may be required to obtain a visa. Please visit the U.S. Department of State web site regarding visas for temporary visitors. 

You may require a letter of invitation to obtain your visa. If so, please send your request in writing to office@iuga.org. The request should be in the following format: 
  • Your complete name, organization and job title
  • Your name as it appears on your passport
  • Passport number
  • Issuing government
  • Expiration date 


If you are a national of a visa waiver country: 
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires that travelers who wish to enter without a visa under the visa waiver program must still obtain pre-authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to initiating travel to the United States. Learn more at www.cbp.gov/esta. For a list of the countries in the visa waiver program, click here.

On Saturday, February 1 IUGA  offered a webinar entitled ‘A Practical Guide to Pain Management with Mesh Implantation’.   This presentation was recorded and is available to members for viewing on the members-only section of the IUGA website.

Please note: there is a short portion (about a minute) of Sohier Elneil's presentation where the audio and video was lost, but the presentation slides remain. This was only a short technical difficulty we experienced during the webinar. You do not need to adjust your speakers’ volume, the presentation will resume after a short period with the audio and video feed.
