It is with regret we report the death of Professor Carl-Gustaf Nilsson who died on October 8 2015, aged 71 years. Professor Nilsson was an active member of several organizations including IUGA. He was a much appreciated colleague and friend who will be missed by many engaged in the field of Urogynecology. To read Prof. Nilsson’s obituary, click below.

The latest edition of the IUGA official newsletter is now available online. This issue features an excellent article on the importance of checklists in the medical practice prior to surgery and another that states establishing a standardized stepwise training with objective assessment and constructive feedback may reduce the learning curve and contribute to the faster acquisition of skills.

Every year on December 5th, the United Nations recognizes International Volunteer Day. It is a global celebration of volunteerism, honoring people’s participation in making a change at all levels. IUGA would like to say thank you to all of its members, for making a difference in the lives of women all around the world.
