Fellows’ Activities
The AUGS Fellows’ Special Interest Group and IUGA Fellows’ Committee are happy to announce two exciting activities that will take place at the 2014 meeting. The first of which, a fellows’ cadaver lab, will take place on Tuesday, July 22 at on off-site facility and will provide fellows an opportunity to review pelvic anatomy, learn new surgical techniques and enhance their surgical skills. The course will feature a morning didactics session including an overview of the pelvic muscles, nerves, blood supply, the path of the ureters and other relevant pelvic anatomy as it relates to female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.  During the afternoon wet-lab, attendees will work in small group settings with field experts to practice surgical procedures and learn about diagnostic approaches and non-surgical alternatives. The price to attend is USD$100 for members and USD$150 for non-members.

The fellows will also be hosting a fellows’ research forum on Wednesday, July 23 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The forum is structured a bit differently than the typical “fellows’ day”, but will still be an educational and fun opportunity for all who participate. It will begin with a one-hour keynote presentation by Dr. Rebecca Rogers focused on clinical research and grant writing. The second part of the forum will allow participants to present their research in small group settings where faculty advisors and peers will provide feedback and helpful tips. This activitiy is free to attend.
