June is pelvic organ prolapse awareness month
For the second year in a row, the Association for Pelvic Organ Prolapse Support is declaring June POP Awareness Month to  encourage early screening and detection and provide guidance and support to the women who are navigating pelvic organ prolapse. Pelvic organ prolapse educational and support events for women are pivotal to generating POP awareness and enabling women to find the female pelvic health practitioners who provide treatment for POP. Thank you to all of our members who continuously educate patients and the general public about POP and the support available for those who are suffering.

Find a urogynecologist tool now available online
The find a urogynecologist tool was created for patients seeking treatment for pelvic floor disorders in their respective country. Patients can search by name, country and/or specialty to help them find the right provider. There are currently about 300 IUGA members who have submitted their contact information for the tool, but with members in over 80 countries we are hoping to increase that number significantly. Click here to access the tool.

This is an IUGA member’s only benefit. If you are a member interested in adding your name to the database, please log-in to the web site select “manage profile” then “edit bio”. Complete the requested information in the “Work info. (For the find a urogynecologist tool)” section. Since updates are made to the tool manually by IUGA staff, please allow two weeks for your update to appear in the directory.
E-mail membership@iuga.org if you have questions about this tool or need further assistance.

Enter the IUGA Facebook© photo contest to win prizes
IUGA’s members work, and, in many cases, volunteer to make an impact on women’s health. Show the urogyn community, in a photo, what you and those you work with are doing to have a positive effect on the lives of women, in your community and around the world. Whether it’s performing fistula surgery in sub Saharan Africa or leading a patient education group in the middle of a bustling city like London, we want to hear about and see it! You could win one of three prizes including a Fitbit wireless or an iPod Touch. Click here for more information.

Mentorship registry
